Dear Lab/Shul Community,
Just a few days ago, as the sun was setting on the saddest day of our Jewish calendar, I was in Jerusalem with a beloved mentor talking about what it takes to lift up from what’s broken, privately and publicly, towards building more beauty in the world. From the last fast day of the Jewish year, we are called to ascend to the first feast of the new year ahead – hand in hand, together.
Aleinu. It’s on us. Here and now, global and local.
And by local I mean…Brooklyn!
I’m thrilled to invite you, friends of all ages, to start the new year with Lab/Shul: Aleinu: It’s On Us – High Holy Days 5779/2018. Join us to return to center, recharge soul, and unleash the best within us for a better year for all.
Due to overwhelming demand, we’ve expanded to a new, larger venue – in Brooklyn. The Grand Prospect Hall, a gorgeous National Historic Landmark, will enable us to sit together in expansive concentric circles, embodying the communal circles of care needed ahead to heal our country and our world. With rooms for more programs for all ages, ample parking and many transportation options – we’re thrilled to try out a new home for the holidays.
We’ve also launched a beautiful new website just for High Holy Days with streamlined info and tons of new features.
Reserve your seat, join us live online, or become a SeasonPass Co-Creator to be part of this communal creation year-round. Everybody’s welcome.
Enjoy the full moon, Shabbat shalom, lots of hugs, and see you soon,
– Rabbi Amichai Lau-Lavie and the Lab/Shul Team
