Selichot: A Night of Forgiveness

Join Rabbi Amichai, Shira Kline and special guests to open the door to the new year, with a celebration of song and silence, reflection and conversation. We are happy to invite you back, safely, in person (+online option)  for an  intimate sacred ritual of Selichot (pron. Se-lee-KHOT),  the Hebrew word for Forgiveness –  bringing in the Days of Awe.  Join us for this contemplative practice, ancient Judaic poetry, and stirring music with special guest musician and song leader Adirchai Haberman-Browns, guest musician Eleonore Weill and guest ritual leader Reverend Derrick McQueen.

Our ritual program will conclude with a screening of the short film “40 Days of Teshuvah” based on the 40 Days of Teshuvah action JFREJ organized last summer as a part of the uprising for Black lives. The screening will be followed by a Q & A session with JFREJ Community Leader Yehuda Webster.

For in-person attendees:
Please note that proof of vaccination will be required to enter the event, and that masks must be worn inside at all times (except when eating). We thank you for your help in keeping this beloved community safe.

Lab/Shul is proud to partner with the JCC Harlem for this program.
