We have been on a long journey together…throughout this heartbreaking year and especially in the last 40 high and holy days. Let’s exhale for a moment together.

Yesterday – on Indigenous People’s Day – and as we prepare for the fall festival of Sukkot – we acknowledge that all of the important and meaningful work that we do in community together is done upon the land of our Indigenous siblings.

Today – and always – we acknowledge, recognize and celebrate diverse cultures and the invaluable contributions and resilience of them: past, present and future.

Today we begin to wrap this year’s High Holy Days of Awe season, focused on our theme: Be Here: Ever Presence. Face to Face Forever/Now.

Words don’t always do justice to our feelings, but here are just a few to help us into the new year: Thanks. Wow. Oops and Please…

  • THANKS: Our giant gratitude to all who co-created these powerful days with us in so many ways, with so much talent and passion – and to all of you who joined us, in NYC and at home –  to begin this brave new year together.
  • WOW: So many meaningful moments were experienced and so much labor of love went into every single detail of the sacred season. Take a moment to reflect: What’s ONE WOW from these days that stays with you today and into the new year?  Want to share your WOW? Feel free to express your radical amazement and you can always tag @labshul.
  • OOPS: The official season of forgiveness is over but never too late to apologize for whatever way we may have missed the mark. If there’s any helpful feedback or suggestion for improving what we do ahead — we are sorry for anything that may have gone wrong and ask for your forgiveness – and feedback!
  • PLEASE: It costs more than $200,000 to create our artist-driven, everybody friendly High Holy Days experience, from our youngest participants to our elders. Lab/Shul does not a make a profit on the High Holy Days. What you generously contribute through your ticket purchase only covers direct costs, so we rely on donations to support our year-round programming and operations.

If you have not yet made a financial contribution to Lab/Shul this High Holy season, please – help us keep the magic going and make a financial gift now. HELP SUPPORT LAB/SHUL

AND: Your feedback matters a lot.

We invite you to take our short survey. (Please, seriously, surveys are taken very seriously and we appreciate your thoughtful feedback). You can also share praise, suggestions, any feedback with us at hello@labshul.org.
