Welcome to Lab/Shul, an artist-driven, everybody-friendly, God-optional, pop up, experimental community for sacred Jewish gatherings based in NYC and reaching the world.

Calling All Music Lovers and Dancing Queens!

You know that musical Oseh Shalom that has everyone up on their feet clapping, stomping and dancing at every Lab/Shul Shabbat or High Holy Day gathering? That powerful prayer for peace was composed by Yoel Sykes of the Jerusalem based community, Nava Tehila. We have them to thank for that and so many other gorgeous pieces of music that you’ve tuned in for throughout the years.  So I am beyond excited to share with you that THIS WEEKEND the musicians of Nava Tehila are coming to NYC to launch Havayah, their third CD!!!

I met Yoel back in 2011 when Amichai invited him to join us for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. We sat in Amichai’s living room sharing song after song, each more beautiful than the one before. We are thrilled to partner with Romemu to host Nava Tehila’s musical leadership for this special CD launch concert. We start out with a Havdallah ceremony, followed by Psalm chanting with original melodies and guided intentions that will allow us to connect to the spirit, fill our hearts, and uplift our souls.
