Welcome to Lab/Shul, an artist-driven, everybody-friendly, God-optional, pop up, experimental community for sacred Jewish gatherings based in NYC and reaching the world.

FamilyLab: That Shabbat Feeling

  • 05:30 PM
  • Upper West Side Home Host - RSVP for exact address

Welcome to FamilyLab: An everybody-friendly grassroots gathering for families with young children ages 0-8 (siblings welcome). Our year-long curriculum guides families through the Jewish seasons, hosted in partnership with Beloved Brooklyn and in homes across Manhattan and Brooklyn. FamilyLab is centered around the family table: We dine, sing, and learn as we celebrate holidays and delve into life long values.

Shira Kline, Lab/Shul’s Director of Worship and Family Education, leads the meet-ups through story, music, art, and great conversation.

With Lab/Shul’s unique God-optional approach to tradition, text, and story, FamilyLab is open to those who identify as Jewish, Jew-ish, and everything in between. All families are welcome!

THIS MONTH: The tastes, smells, and feels of Shabbat. Challah braiding, table making, glass clinking, TGIF. With a home cooked vegetarian Shabbat dinner, we’ll gather around the family table and take a well deserved pause at the end of our week.

FamilyLab programs can be purchased as a single program or as a package.

+ Fees include dinner and programming for up to 5 people.
