Forty Years in the Wilderness – Conversation with Yischa Smith

  • 08:00 PM
  • Jewish Theological Seminary, 3080 Broadway, New York, NY

What are some of the critical issues for the LGBTQ Jewish Community today?
In celebration of the anniversary of JTS’s historical 2006 decision to ordain LGBTQ rabbis, The Jewish Theological Seminary’s RSSO and KESHET – LGBT alliance, in partnership with Columbia Hillel and Lab/Shul invite our communities for a conversation with Yiscah Smith, Jerusalem based spiritual teacher, author and LGBT activist .

Yischa’s recent book “Forty Years in the Wilderness: My Journey to Authentic Living” is a memoir of the 40 years she spent struggling with her own spirituality, gender identity, and commitment to living true to herself.

unnamedA “meet & greet” will precede Yiscah reading excerpts from her book, and a Q&A period and book signing will follow.

The event is free, RSVP & photo ID required
