Kaddish Club – Why Minyan Matters
Why did Jewish Law proscribe the presence of ten adults for the recital of the mourner’s prayer? Join Amichai at his home in the East Village for a study session + potluck dinner – exploring the benefit of intimacy for individuals and for communities at times of loss, times of joy and all that’s in between.
Kaddish Club is not just for active mourners:
We invite you to join Lab/Shul’s monthly circle of conversation, contemplation and the recitation of the mourners’ prayer.
Led by Amichai Lau-Lavie, this circle invites all who are currently within the a year of mourning; those observing a death date of a loved one during this month; and all who stand in solidarity and sympathy with friends, family, community.
We’ll be meeting in private homes, exploring poetry and prose, tools and traditions, addressing the meaning of mourning and the paths to personal healing and community building.
The event is free.
Please join us for the next monthly Kaddish Club Tuesday Night, April 28th 2015, 7-9pm
Address will be sent to those who RSVP.
