“Worthy is the generation whose leader brings a sacrifice for personal transgression and guilt.” (Midrash Sifra Vayikra 5:1)

Are we worthy?
Several months and a different lifetime ago I wrote a short reflection for this week’s installment of Torah, Va’Yikra, honored to be among T’ruah rabbinic voices raising justice visions from our Scriptures.
Even with our new reality, some of what I wrote here seems as pertinent –focusing on the important role of public rituals of repentance for misdeeds. This is true for all leaders, and for for each every one of us as we, often in error, dishonor and disregard the dignity of others, whoever and however they and each of us choose to represent ourselves and live our lives, off and online.
Everybody hurts. Everybody heals. May we be among the healers on this and every day.

Shabbat Shalom.
