Our DJ was right in front of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising memorial (in a Berlin tank top, no less). Trevor Project Next Gen preached their mission and kicked off Pride Month in an exhibit on Nazi persecution of homosexuals. Gong-bath meditation was nestled in Andy Goldsworthy’s Garden of Stones. Amichai, Naomi, and Bronwen Mullin “seduced the Sabbath” with Lady Liberty looking on in the distance. JSwipe founder David Yarus talked about the future of dating surrounded by 1950’s era furniture. Oh yeah, Lab/Shul definitely crashed the Museum of Jewish Heritage!

On Friday over 145 young NYC professionals (almost double what we were expecting!) descended on the museum eager to unwind + unplug + recharge…and kick of Pride Month while we were at it! At the end of our very first SlowDownTown the only questions anyone had were “can we stay longer?” and “when are we doing this again?” (July 31st by the way, you can register here).

Rabbi Jess Minnen, Resident Rabbi at OneTable, who brought a table of DIY summer shandies, summed it up:

“It was the perfect transition from the workweek into Shabbat. There was so much interest in OneTable, and we loved the new faces and the terrific energy.”

Hope to slow down with all of you in July,
