Welcome to Lab/Shul, an artist-driven, everybody-friendly, God-optional, pop up, experimental community for sacred Jewish gatherings based in NYC and reaching the world.

Renegade Ritual Riot: Purim 2017

And now, for something totally different…

Presidents Day? No thank you. Let’s hear it for the Queens. Lab/Shul presents ComPassion Plays, our first annual performance festival and renegade ritual riot taking on the Book of Esther. Off book. One night only.

Lab/Shul let loose 10 of New York’s wildest writers, performers, poets, musicians and creative rebels to create new original shorts inspired by a single quote and an epic act of resistance from the Purim scroll:

“Then I’ll go to the king, though it’s illegal. If I perish, I perish.” (4:16)

Underground arts. Dance Floor. Cash Bar. Costumes. 21+

Seats are limited, so definitely don’t wait to buy your tickets!

Less patriarchy, more comPassion.
