Dear Lab/Shul,
Sabbath Queen Says: the New Moon of Sivan clears the sky for a month-long uplift of all that we have seeded, sown, and reaped this past year. Sivan is the moon of harvest and joy and, of course, Pride Month in NYC. Read through for all of the upcoming events we have planned to round out our year.
If you are this year’s Gala Honoree, Sandi DuBowski, your harvest is the World Premiere of a documentary twenty-one years in the making… a vision coming to fruition. What are YOU harvesting this time of year? A wedding? A graduation? We’d love to celebrate with you.
Tell us what you’re harvesting!
This Friday, June 7, join us for our final Sabbath Queen of 5784. In the midst of the lingering sorrow and heartache of this year, we will kick off Pride Month by honoring the Queen within each of us. Our ritual program will feature our beloved Queens: R. Amichai Lau-Lavie (#thatsmyrabbi) – the original Sabbath Queen – and distinguished storyteller and filmmaker of the Sabbath Queen documentary, Sandi DuBowski.
And next week, we gather for Shavuot: the holiday of mountaintop revelations and rainbows, delicious dairy, and epic harvest of all things growing. Here’s where you can find us:
- On June 11, we will be with our friends at Congregation Beth Elohim for our annual all night immersion in mythos and music.
- On June 12, we will be in Manhattan and online for our seasonal Kaddish ritual: ReCollect. The Kaddish Club along with Co-Founder, Associate Director & Ritual Leader – Naomi Less – invites you to acknowledge and lift up the memories of loved ones who are no longer with us.
Finally, June 18th is our Annual Spring Gala! Join us to honor Sandi, along with award recipients, Maryam Chishtii, Rima DuBowski and Libby Lenkinski. Plus, a behind-the-scenes look + exclusive talkback of the Sabbath Queen documentary, followed by our open-to-all After Party Bowling Bash co-hosted by Lab/Shul artists, Amanda Miller and Melissa Shaw, with DJ Party Girl.
