We are ending one of the most painful years that any of us can remember, and approaching this new year with many hopes for much better days and more peaceful years.
As we hold the hurts and fears of so many of our loved ones, everywhere, we take the first steps of this new year with resolve to keep on trusting in the tools that we inherited to help us hope and heal. We are once again reminded to see each other and look at each other face to face, eye to eye, heart to heart — this is our path towards peace.
We are grateful for the artists who help us imagine beauty in a world of intense conflict, and so glad to bring the art of Eitan Kedmy, who designed this year’s theme with us, bringing us a mandala in the shape of the eye of love and presence.
Want to see more of Eitan’s art? Ten of the mandalas he created this past year will be on display in the lobby in Tribeca – and also available on our digital playbill.
FACE TO FACE, PEACE TO PEACE.
Safety and security are our top priorities for Lab/Shul’s High Holy Days of Awe programming. In preparation, we have participated in multiple security training sessions with various entities, including UJA Federation NY’s Community Security Initiative, the NYPD, and other trusted sources. We’ve also partnered with the venue staff to coordinate all safety and security protocols. All Lab/Shul staff, hired educators, and production staff have been trained to handle a wide range of safety and security scenarios. If you notice anything on-site, please alert any Lab/Shul staff member, volunteer, venue House Management, or production management staff.
We want to be in community with you: in person and/or online. So, if you join us, let us know! Share your experience of the High Holy Days of Awe by tagging @labshul on Instagram or Facebook!
