Welcome to Shmita – The Year of Release.
Just as the weekly Sabbath offers rest and renewal, so does the Shmita year, observed since Biblical times on a seven year cycle. Shmita, translated literally as โletting goโ, was originally a tool for farmers, mandating a fallow year of rest for the land and for the workers, offering respite, as well as a release of debts. Now, Shmita is increasingly recognised as an opportunity towards self care, environmental reform and increased efforts towards social justice. This Shmita Year, mid Pandemic invites us to deeply explore notions of better balance between culture and nature, work and home, life as is and life as we want to live it.
Join us all year long to rest and reset, release and renew.
