Dear Lab/Shul,
I have to admit, I love a good cleanse. I’ll try a juice cleanse, raw foods detox, digital detox, destress, detangle… I love an invitation to let it all go. But then what?
Our upcoming Sabbath Queen on March 17 is just two weeks ahead of Lab/Shul’s Passover Freedom Feast. Please consider it an invitation to begin your spiritual spring cleanse with us!
Here are your cleaning supplies: Water, Song, Flame, Earth, Body, Ancestral Story, Self Love, Illumination, Collective Consciousness.
In the fall, I always do a special raw foods detox on my way into the Jewish New Year. It’s a full body journey to make space in the heart, mind, and soul for the practices of ritual renewal.
And now with Passover fast approaching, spring cleaning is upon us! What will you be cleansing from? Crumbs? Closets? Old stories and agendas? With the days getting longer and more and more light peering in, I wonder, what will be revealed in this year’s sunshine bath?
You can start by cleaning out your closets! This Friday at Sabbath Queen, Team TLC is helping us collect much needed supplies for NYC-based refugees, migrants and asylum seekers. This Friday, we will be collecting:
-
Sneakers and warm boots for men, women and children
-
Warm jackets for men and women in small and medium sizes only, for children in all sizes
-
Sweaters and sweatshirts for men and women in small and medium only, for children in all sizes
-
Sweatpants for men and women in small and medium sizes
-
Socks for men, women and children
-
New underwear for men and women in small and medium sizes, for children in all sizes.
-
Stuffed animals, toothpaste and toothbrushes, deodorant, shampoo, soap, combs, laundry soap, diapers, and sanitary napkins
AND you can also make donations directly through Target and Amazon at these TLC links.
We’ll continue the collection through Passover at Freedom Feast as well as at the next month’s Sabbath Queen in Brooklyn on April 21.
See you soon, Lab/Shul!
Love,
Shira
