December 14 StorahSteps: Peaceful Sleep

Sometimes it’s hard to fall asleep at night – especially if you’re a long way from home and have a rock for a pillow.  But not to worry: the kids and parents of StorahSteps helped our Biblical protagonist Jacob fall asleep by sharing bedtime stories, breathing in and out and creating their very own sukkat shalom peace pillows filled with blessings and good wishes for a peaceful night sleep.  They even had a sleep expert, Serach Bat Asher, who was more of an expert at sleeping than a sleep expert, helping out.10685341_343534292498073_8882770222129221805_n
This past Saturday was Lab/Shul’s third of a three-series program held at Kolot Chayeinu where Lab/Shul educators Shawn Shafner, JessAnn Smith and I had the opportunity to put skills learned to great use – we’ve been participating in an incredible educational program through the Jewish Education Project called JLinc which helps families with young children connect to each other, to Judaism and to their local synagogue.
We’ll be starting up the spring three-part series in March.  Interested in attending? Make sure you check the calendar for dates and sign up as it fills up fast.

You can view photos and watch part one and part two of the full video coverage.
