Lab/Shul Friends,

Hello from East Harlem. Wherever this finds you, I hope that you are as safe and well taken care of as possible on this night (and remembering to wash hands!) Read on for a few words of grounding + what we’ve got this week to help us connect, nourish our souls + hug our minds.

Thanks

Immense gratitude to all first responders, all medical and mental health, law and order teams, teachers and artists, and all who keep us safe and sane on this day. To every one of us struggling to keep it together and be helpful – you’ve got this. We’ve got this. Step by step. Gratitude helps.

Wow

Our new normal is living with the unknown. We are experiencing a collective rite of passage on a global scale that demands our recognition of the interconnectedness of all of life. Within our fear is immense awe. We’ve got much to learn here and to change.

Oops

Be gentle with yourself and with others. We are under pressure, bound to mess up and hurt instead of helping. Kindness helps. Also short dance breaks. (I rediscovered The Safety Dance today.)

Please

Lab/Shul is here to help our souls and minds and friendships blossom as the tulips do outside right now. We’re using our tools – ancient and new – for making place for presence and perspective, contact and inspiration. Please join us and let us know how to step it up. We’re here to help.

I use the thanks, wow, oops, please metric for my 10 minute morning meditation. Super helpful.

Hang in there,

Love

Amichai
