THURSDAY – Stand in Solidarity for the Jerusalem Pride Victims

The tragic news from Israel these past few days reminds us all to pause and reflect on how every single word and gesture of ours can be the cause of death and heartbreak…or life and healing. Let’s be a part of the solution and not the problem. Let’s build a better world.

Thursday, August 6th, 6:30-8pm

The LGBT Center, 208 W. 13th Street, NY NY 10011

LAB/SHUL, CBST
and JQY invite you to join us in a Memorial and Solidarity Gathering in response to the senseless hatred in Israel last week. We gather one week after the Jerusalem Pride Parade, in which six people were stabbed and one of them, teenager Shira Banki, was murdered at the hands of a Jewish religious extremist. We gather in grief, in outrage, and in hope, raising our Jewish and LGBTQ’s voices together against violence, racism and homophobia in Israel. Together we will create the peace we want to see in the world.

“The accusation of abomination, the refusal by many to even have a public conversation about our lives, loves, shame and pride – all of this is part of the problem. And it’s time for a solution. Our lives and loves are sacred. We were all made in the Divine image. Diversity is holy too.”
-Amichai, from his recent blog on the Jerusalem Pride stabbing
