green-carpetEveryone’s a VIP on this Jewish New Year’s Eve: For the first night of Rosh Ha’Shana, 9/24, Lab/Shul is rolling out the Green Carpet – inviting all our friends and guests to come dressed up with something fun, something new (could be socks!) getting their portrait taken for the new year, raising a glass of wine, dipping an apple in honey, and starting the year with style – and a smile.

All photos will be uploaded for your pleasure and use.

Why: It’s traditional to dress up and wear a new garment for the first night of the Jewish New Year.

Why Green Carpet? Rosh Hashana is the birthday of the world and this is the Shmita year – a sabbatical for the land. So we are replacing the red carpet with a green one to celebrate Mother Earth and commit to a year of green responsibility.  Joan River’s spirit will be with us, with love. But we won’t have a fashion police…
