Welcome to Lab/Shul, an artist-driven, everybody-friendly, God-optional, pop up, experimental community for sacred Jewish gatherings based in NYC and reaching the world.

Welcome to the Future. In Joy.

Dear Lab/Shul Friends,
Wow. Over 250 of you joined us last night to celebrate Lab/Shul’s fourth year and welcome the future of Jewish identities in North America. Thank you all for showing up and supporting Lab/Shul’s Everybody Friendly vision. We raised over $150,000 last night towards our new Welcome Fund. It’s not too late to support this great cause and stand with us for progress and love:

We are overjoyed and proud to stand with Rabbi Amichai as he courageously leads us towards a culture of inclusion and love rather than exclusion and fear. Rabbi Amichai’s fruits of a year of research on intermarriage, Joy: A Proposal, is now live on our site – please read, reflect, respond, and share wide. This will be a conversation we’ll be having in the years ahead, so stay tuned for more details.
Pictures and videos are coming soon, but the proposal is already hot news! We made the front page of today’s Jewish Week: Maverick Rabbi Breaks Ranks Over Intermarriage
Join the conversation! You can still send personal stories and reactions to be published in The Forward to [email protected].
The future? It’s fluid, and fabulous.
We hope to see you at City Winery THIS SATURDAY MORNING at our last Shabbat AM of the season, celebrating PRIDE with a special guest speaker – Rachel B. Tiven, CEO of Lambda Legal, the country’s oldest and largest LGBT legal organization.
On behalf of Lab/Shul’s Board of Directors, and with lots of pride,
Michael Dorf
